Standing as a testament that Cabernet Sauvignon can be as rich, complex and even more prestigious outside of the Napa Valley, this wine started on a quiet Sonoma mountainside overlooking the Alexander Valley. Averaging over 1k feet off the valley floor, sitting precariously along the Mayacama Mountains where the warm days are long, the nights are cool and the grapes are impressively intense. Small grapes are what we look for as they offer less pulp and more concentrated flavors that burst on the palate win the finished wine. With additional aging, this alluring wine will continue to gain complexity and intrigue the senses for years to come.
“A bold wine that immediately leaps from the glass with sweet oak, cassis and dried cherry aromas. Vibrant intense flavors of red cherry and plum are accentuated by the soft French oak tannins and subtle smokiness. The flavors, aromas and tannins on this big Cabernet will continue to meld and marry with age—an exciting wine to cellar for 10–15 years.”
